Former West Indian fast bowler Michael Holding has demanded ICC test status for Ireland, saying that if the Irish team continued to play lower level matches then its skills will be lost.
Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding has demanded ICC test status for Ireland. Ireland succeeded its first upset after defeating West Indies. Irish team achieved the target of 305 runs with courage.
He said that Ireland is continuously playing good cricket, while it defeated Pakistan in 2007 and succeeded to achieve target of 328 runs against England and now defeated West Indies. Irish team is now entitled test status for its good performance. Irish team can defeat Zimbabwe in Test matches and will not be easy target for other teams as well. English Captain Owen Morgan left Ireland for England so that he could get a chance to play test cricket and now if Ireland was not included in test nations then its players will go to different countries and Irish performance will be ruined, while the team will improve its performance if test status was awarded to Irish team. Michael Holding further said that Ireland could qualify for World Cup Quarter Final.
