ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Science has prepared Lunar Calendar (Islamic Calendar) for the next five years on the instructions of Science and Technology minister Fawad Chaudhry.
According to details, the science ministry has forwarded the Islamic calendar to the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) for suggestions which later on would be presented before the cabinet for approval.
Earlier in a day, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Choudhary has ‘tendered invitation’ to renowned clerics; Mufti Muhammad Muneeb ur Rehman and Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai to sight the moon and observe its circulation.
In a Twitter message, Fawad, in a rather sarcastic manner, invited the head of the private moon-sighting committee at the Qasim Ali Khan Mosque Mufti Popalzai and ‘Mufti e Azam’ Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman to see ‘how easy it is to sigh the moon’.
He claimed that the process of locating the moon is not much difficult and advanced technology has made it much easier.
