MMA To Hold APC Meeting Today Over Alleged Rigged Polls

Islamabad (July 27, 2018): Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has called an All Parties Conference (APC) later today against alleged rigging in polls. PML-N will also attend the meeting.

As PTI workers from across the country celebrated the results, the outgoing PML-N rejected the suggested outcome, citing “outright rigging” and accusing officials of preventing its representatives from overseeing the count.

The All Parties Conference will meet later today to reach a consensus on the demand to declare results of the poll void. The meeting will be held later today in the federal capital.

MMA Rejects General Election Results: Fazlur Rahman

Earlier on, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman rejected the result of general elections 2018.

While talking to the journalist in Islamabad Maulana Fazlur Rehman said “I claim that, in the entire country, Form 45 was not given to presiding officers and polling agents,” the polling boxes were in the army’s possession after the polling process ended.He added “It appears that the returning officers, presiding officer, DROs had no powers. The results were not issued and now are being provided steadily”.

“We announce to continue our struggle for the people’s mandate,” he said, adding that he will try to come up with a combined plan of action with other political parties after tomorrow’s All Parties Conference.

PML-N Rejects General Election Results:

Earlier on July 25, addressing a press conference, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif said he had received complaints of irregularities from across Pakistan, adding that other parties have also raised similar objections.

“PML-N wholly rejects the results of General Elections 2018 due to manifest & massive irregularities. Form 45 was not given to our agents, results were stopped & votes were counted in the absence of our poll agents.

PPP Raises Reservations On Results:

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also voiced similar concerns terming the alleged expulsion of party’s polling agents from various polling stations ‘inexcusable and outrageous’.

The party claimed that their polling agents were not provided with the election results. “What conspiracy is being hatched by not providing results to our polling agents?” said a spokesperson of Bilawal on Twitter.

MQM Not Happy With Results:

The MQM-P also expressed similar concerns in a news conference in Karachi, in which Faisal Sabzwari claimed that their polling agents were not being provided certified copies of the election results by the ECP in Hyderabad and Karachi.حلقہ بندیوں میں پری پول دھاندلی کی گئی، فیصل سبزواریSabzwari specifically mentioned polling station 89 of NA-249 and another one from NA-243 constituency.
