MMA’s APC in Jeopardy After PPP, MQM Refusal

Islamabad (July 27, 2018): The All Parties Conference (APC) called by Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal against the alleged rigging in election 2018 seems to hang in balance after the refusal of PPP and MQM on Friday.

According to sources, The PPP has decided not to attend a multi-party conference called by the MMA and PML-N on Friday to devise a joint strategy over alleged rigging in the 2018 general elections.

Sources said that MMA is contemplating to change the time and for the purpose Liaqat Baloch busy in contacts with PPP and other parties.

MMA will host the APC in Islamabad against the alleged rigging.

Earlier, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman summoned an All Parties Conference on Friday over allegedly rigged results in General Election 2018.Maulana Fazlur Rehman said in a statement that ‘the rigged results are unacceptable’ to the alliance.

Fazl’s comments followed similar allegations by major political parties in the country.

The political parties raised serious reservations over the credibility of the polling process in the General Election 2018.

The PML-N had on Thursday decided to take all major parties, including the PPP and obviously excluding the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, on board to formulate a joint strategy to take up the rigging issue that it believes has deprived it of majority in the coming National Assembly.
