Money Laundering Case: ATC Expresses Anger Over Absence Of FIA’s Team

KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday during a hearing pertaining to the cases of money-laundering in the name of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and its charity wing Khidmat-e-Khalaq Foundation (KKF) expressed anger towards the absence of Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) investigation team.

As per details, ATC heard a case pertaining to the money laundering in the name of MQM and KKF in which the court expressed anger towards the FIA’s investigation team constant absence from the hearings.

Later on, the court ordered FIA’s additional director Bakhtiar Channa, Ijaz Shaikh and Muhammad Raees to submit their answers till April 19, the court was supposed to issues an order today on the applications of FIA.

As this occasion FIA’s prosecutor requested the court to conduct raids on some of MQM’s offices and banks.

It is pertinent to mention here that the court has already issued warrants for arresting MQM’s founder Altaf Hussain, Tariq Mir and Nadeem Nusrat. Despite the issuance of the warrants against MQM’s leadership no arrest has been made till to date.

Others include in the wanted list are MQM’s Babar Ghauri, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor and Rehan Mansoor.

Earlier in 2017, FIA had initiated a probe against various leaders of MQM in cases pertaining to the money laundering of an amount worth GBP50 million.
