ESCONDIDO: A mosque in California’s city Escondido was set ablaze on late Saturday night along with a note left on the site allegedly from the suspect regarding recent terrorist attack at twin mosques in Christchurch which claimed lives of 50 innocent Muslims.
No loss of life has taken place in the mosque fire and investigation on the arson attack is underway, police said.
Police have said that a note has been found from the site regarding Christchurch massacre however, they seem much reluctant to reveal details of what is written in it.
Police added they don’t currently have a suspect.
Only the external portion of the mosque has been affected by the fire owing to timely response of the people present inside the mosque at the time who extinguished the fire quickly before fire brigade teams arrived.
Moreover, the suspect also did wall-choking on the walls of the mosque in this recent hate crime act against Muslim community amid escalating Islamophobia.
