Islamabad (November 28, 2018): The motorway police and NHA have introduced mobile phone application named Hamsafar.
Speaking after inauguration in Islamabad on Wednesday, Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed said PTI government is taking concrete steps to depoliticize and improve the working of state institutions for better governance.
The app developed in collaboration between National Highways Authority and Motorway Police, will share real time information and data with commuters regarding traffic updates, weather situation and road blockages.
The Minister said a pilot project will be started soon to test the construction of safe and better roads for safety of passengers and road users.
On the occasion, Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police A.D Khawaja said time has come to adopt the latest technology.
He said that NH&MP’s mobile AAP “Humsafar” meaning companion is an intelligent interface for assistance that will enable users to acquire instant information on road situation, weather condition, fog, rain and traffic volume as well as seek help in time of distress.
