KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday moved Sindh High Court against the victory of PPP candidate in PS-127 by-election, alleging that PPP candidate won the election through rigging and manipulating results of 51 polling stations.
MQM candidate Waseem Ahmed filed a petition in SHC praying the court to restrain the Election Commission from notifying the victory of PPP candidate in the election till the disposal of the instant petition.
He submitted that he was defeated through a well-planned conspiracy and results of 51 polling stations of the constituency were changed. Waseem pleaded the court to hear the cases on urgent basis. After hearing preliminary argument of the petitioner counsel, the court issued notice to all parties of the cases for September 15.
It is to be mentioned here that in PS-127 by-election PPP candidate Murtaza Baloch defeated MQM’s Waseem Ahmed with a comfortable margin of about seven thousands votes.
