MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar seeks police security

KARACHI: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday contacted police high ups, asking them to provide security for a party meeting to be held at KMC Sports Complex at PIB.

As per details, MQM-P has convened a meeting of party lawmakers; MNAs, Senators and MPAs and party’s elected local bodies’ representatives and other office-bearers at KMC Sports Complex to discuss party’s strategy in wake of MQM-London recent moves.

The MQM-P chief on Sunday contacted IGP Sindh and DIG East and other high officials and conveyed them that the party leaders and parliamentarians were facing threats. He said that a party meeting was to be held at KMC Sports complex and urged them to provide security.

Sources said that on Farooq Sattar’s request police officials responded the heavy police contingents had been deployed on the routes of PPP rally and police officer were busy in security arrangements of the rally. The police high ups said that they would discuss the issue after PPP rally with the MQM-P leadership.
