Shhabir Qaimkhani was also a member of MQM-P coordination committee and while announcing his decision to quit party said that during last two months MQM received back-to-back setbacks and party leadership from the both end instead of resolving the issue preferred to mark foundation day separately.
I stayed at home on March 18 and after realizing the situation I decided to quit instead of tugging myself in war of Kite and Party Flag, said Qaimkhani.
MQM-Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar also visited the estranged party leader on April 5 to end his reservations and asked him to remain with the party as his departure would be a great loss for the party which is still suffering from divisions.Qaimkhani, however, said that he has taken the decision after long thought process and would only return to the party if both factions join hands.
The estranged MQM-P leader was also approached by the Pakistan People’s Party on April 8 when the PPP Karachi Division President Saeed Ghani met him at his residence and offered to join PPP.
He however, refused to accept the offer and said that he is not mulling over to join any other party and want to give time to his family.
