ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday dismissed the plea of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) filed against those municipal representatives who had parted ways with the political party.
A three-member ECP bench headed by Sardar Mohammad Raza heard on the plea was filed by current Federal IT Minister and MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool.
Lawyer Akbar Khan appeared before the court on behalf of MQM-P and lawyer Hafeezuddin on behalf of the municipal representatives.
After hearing arguments of both parties, the ECP binned the petition.
