MQM-P to Stage Protest Against Knife Attacks on Women

Karachi (October 05, 2017): Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has announced to stage pretest demonstration against the knife attack on women in Karachi that has spread panic among citizens.

MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar has said that today their mothers and sisters become insecure. He said that MQM-P would stage protest against the attack in Gulistan-e-Jauhr, the area most affected by the knife-attack.

He lashed out at government for its failure to provide security to the people.

Earlier, he appeared before the anti-terrorism court in connection with the inflammatory speech case. On the occasion, the court against issued non –bailable warrant for arrest of absconding accused in the case. The absconders in the case include MQM founder Altaf Hussain, MNA Raheed Godail, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and others.MQM MPA Rauf Siddiqui filed an application in the court seeking exemption from personal appearance.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case.

Later talking to media after the case, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said that Sindh government had kept all the resources with itself.He added that they had urged Chief Minister Sindh to reconsider over the issue.

Regarding the poor cleanliness and sanitation condition, Mayor Karachi said that that they had been facing problems in paying salaries and pensions to the employees.
