Karachi (October 29, 2017): Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan’s Arshad Vohra joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party on Sunday.

According to the details, Arshad Wohra, Deputy Mayor of Karachi, has decided to join the Pak Sar Zameen Party.

The Deputy Mayor Karachi, along with other local government officials belonging to MQM-P, have reached PSP headquarters, Pakistan House, to make the announcement.

Speaking to the media at the Pakistan House, the headquarters of the Mustafa Kamal-led party, Arshad Vohra said he has decided to resign from his position as he was unable to serve the people of Karachi.

He said that he decided to leave the party “because MQM-P had no vision.”

He apologized to the voters for not delivering in the local government. “I apologies to the people who believed in us and thought we would deliver while being at the helm of city’s affairs.”

“I think we could have delivered with whatever resources we had but we did not. This is the main reason I left MQM-P,” he explained.

Vohra thanked the people of Karachi for electing him to the office of Deputy Mayor and deplored that he couldn’t deliver.

“We could have done a lot for people of Karachi, but we didn’t.

He said a large number of people were willing to join the PSP, rejecting the impression that he was forced to switch loyalties.

Speaking at the press conference, Senior PSP leader Anees Qaim Khani asked Farooq Sattar to fulfill his promise and resign from assemblies.

It is being considered a major blow to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, days after Farooq Sattar said his party lawmakers would resign from the parliament and Sindh Assembly if policy of forcing his party members to quit the MQM-P continues.

The PSP was founded by former Karachi Mayor and MQM renegade Mustafa Kamal last year months before the police and Rangers carried out a crackdown against the Altaf Hussain’s party.

The crackdown was launched after MQM supremo incited his workers to violence and made anti-Pakistan remarks at a speech on August 22 2016.
