MQM’s Arshad Hasan Elected As Deputy Mayor Karachi

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Syed Arshad Hasan on Thursday elected as Deputy Mayor Karachi. 

According to details, the by-polls for the vacant slot was held in KMC head office wherein 281 votes casted out of 300.

Hasan bagged 194 votes to win the post, whereas Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Karamullah Waqas secured the second position after getting 78 votes.

The seat fell vacant when the previous deputy mayor Arshad Vohra joined Pak-Sarzameen Party (PSP) by waving goodbye to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).

He was disqualified later on when MQM-P pleaded the court for his disqualification.
