MQM’s Rehan Hashmi Granted Bail in Hate Speech Case

Karachi (November 16, 2017): The Sindh High Court has granted bail to MQM leader and Chairman District Central Karachi Rehan Hashmi in 21 cases including hate speech, rebellion and terrorism on Thursday in surety of Rs 50000 in each case.

The SHC has granted him interim bail for four days in all 21 cases and directed him to appear before the concern court in this connection.

An anti-terrorism court had issued non-bailable arrest warrant of Rehan Hashmi in 21 cases as the cases was registered against him and other MQM leaders in Azizabad, Malir and other police stations. The  cases were also registered against MQM leaders Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan, Waseem Akhter, Khawaja Izhar and others.

On the other hand SHC has also granted interim bail to MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui in illegal appointment in department of Industries case.

The two member bench headed by chief justice Sindh high court has granted the bail in surety of Rs five hundred thousand and issued the notice to NAB investigative officers for November 21.

NAB had filed case against Rauf Siddiqui in illegal appointments in department of Industries on large scale, however Rauf Siddiqui denying the allegation said the appointments were not made during his tenure.
