PESHAWAR: Pakistan will once again have two Eids as unofficial Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan has announced on Monday that the moon of Shawwal was sighted in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and they will celebrate Eid on Tuesday (today).
Shawwal Moon has been sighted in Peshawar, Mardan and Swabi and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, announced Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai.
He further added: “As many as 23 moon sighting witnesses was received from Peshawar while 14 from South Waziristan”.
Meanwhile, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Karachi on Tuesday to sight the Shawwal moon. Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has already announced that Eid will be observed on June 05 (Wednesday) across the country.
