KARACHI: A court on Tuesday sent prime accused suspect of anchor Mureed Abbas murder case to jail on a judicial remand upon his refusal to record the statement.
The prime accused suspect Atif Zaman was produced before the Judicial Magistrate’s court in an ambulance. Zaman told the magistrate that he wants to record his statement. To which, the court gave him a half-hour time to record his statement.
Atif, later on, refused to record the statement. At which, the court sent him to jail on judicial remand.
On the other hand, Atif in his statement to the police said that he used to pay the investors by the help of their money.
It is pertinent to mention here that Zaman killed renowned TV anchor Mureed Abbas and his friend in Karachi’s Khayaban-e-Bukhari area over a transaction dispute.
