KARACHI: City court has extended physical remand of Atif Zaman accused of murdering renown ex-anchor of Abbtakk News anchor Mureed Abbass and his accomplice Khizer Hyyat until July 19.
The city court on Monday heard the murder case of AbbTakk News anchor Mureed Abbass and his accomplice Khizer Hyyat wherein the investigative officer submitting the hospital report in the court told that the accused Atif Zaman could not be presented in the court being an injured.
The investigating officer asked further time to present the accused in the court while the court approving the request ordered to submit an investigation report regarding the accused Atif Zaman on July 19.
The counsel of Atif Zaman submitting a plea seeking permission to meet his client said that he will not know the facts until he meets his client while the investigating officer said that without the permission of the doctors of the accused no one can meet him.
The court asked the investigation officer whether the accused is in a condition to meet someone on which he informed that he is also not being allowed to meet the accused.
The court issued the orders to respective Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on the application regarding meeting with the accused.
Hot words were also exchanged between the petitioner and the counsel of the accused while later the court adjourned the hearing till July 19 and order to present reports on the health condition of the accused and investigation.
The petitioner counsel Javed Chathari after talking to media demanded inclusion of police surgeon in the case as the report of the private hospital doctor could not be depended adding that the accused is an influential person and in these cases police joints hands with the accused.
