Karachi: The law adviser to chief minister Sindh Murtaza Wahab denied the news that Sindh government has curtailed the powers of the Inspector General (IG) Sindh police.
He made these views while chairing a committee meeting over reforms in Sindh police in Sindh assembly on Wednesday.
The meeting has formed a sub-committee headed by provincial minister Imtiaz Sheikh to draft the reforms in Sindh police.
Talking to media after the meeting, IG Sindh said that he has enjoyed cordial relations with Sindh government and reforms in law will further strengthen police.
The sub-committee has been given seven-day deadline to draft reforms as after the committee’s recommendations the new laws will be tabled in Sindh assembly.
