Musharraf, Wife Did Not Appear in Assets Beyond Means Case

Islamabad (July 10, 2018): Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf and his wife did not appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigators for allegedly having assets beyond means.

NAB authorities had summoned the former military ruler and his wife at the bureau’s office in Rawalpindi to explain their position over alleged involvement in corruption.

After the two failed to appear before NAB, the anti-graft watchdog on Tuesday also issued summons to Musharraf’s two children and son-in-law to appear before NAB investigators on Wednesday.

The former president Musharraf is accused of making assets beyond his known sources of income that are worth billions. The NAB Rawalpindi has summoned Musharraf and his wife, Sehba Musharraf, on July 10 (Today).

The anti-graft body has already summoned Musharraf’s children, Bilal Musharraf and Aaila, and his son-in-law, Asim Raza, on July 11.NAB sources said that Malik Zubair has been investigating the corruption case against the former president and his family.

The investigating officer has also gathered documents pertaining to the case from different institutions, sources said.

The anti-graft body also has prepared questionnaires for all accused in the case, in the light of the documents obtained.Senior lawyer Colonel (r) Inamur Raheem had filed a petition with the NAB against the former military ruler.

Raheem had also provided various documents to the anti-graft body.
