Lahore: Pakistan’s skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is resting these days after ICC’s four-match-suspension, has said that nobody remains captain for good while he has no any fear of losing the captaincy.
In an interview, Sarfaraz Ahmed said that he was consulted in appointing acting captain of the team while he did not heed to any rumors and nor he felt worry surrounding the matter after he was suspended.
He thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ahsan Mani over his trust on him which encouraged all players including him which can be reflected in upcoming 2019 world cup.
He said that Shoaib Malik never showed interest in captaincy adding that Shoaib Malik have led the team earlier and he himself played in his captaincy.
Sarfaraz said that he always got senior players like Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik active support adding that player alternative can be needed at any time during the game.
He informed that the PCB chairman wanted to appoint vice-captain in the team and expressed hope that good cricketer will be made vice-captain of the team. “If I were consulted on the matter then I will definitely give my advice.”
The suspended skipper said that no test match is in line up for up to 8 months and all his focus will remain on short-format cricket and world cup.
