NA body for bringing back Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on States and  Frontier Regions (Safron) has asked the concerned authorities to bring back those Pakistanis who had gone to Afghanistan from North Waziristan after military operation.

The Standing Committee met here, which was attended by members National Assembly from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). The FATA lawmakers complained that they were powerless and could not do anything, as they had to even beg for meeting KP Governor.

MNA from Waziristan Haji Nazir told the meeting that the residents of North Waziristan who had taken shelter in Afghanistan after military operation were not being allowed to return. He said that at present there were 19 thousands Pakistani families stranded in Afghanistan.

On this, SAFRON officials said that there were difficulties due to extraordinary situation.

Chairman of the committee ordered the Ministry to sort out solution of the problem by consulting other state institutions.
