ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) secretariat has issued performance report of the first parliamentary year commenced from August 13 last year.
According to facts and figures issued by the NA secretariat, nine sessions have been held so far since its commencement on August 13 last year while during these sessions the NA proceedings continued for 89 days.
As per the NA secretariat NA speaker Asad Qaiser provided more speaking time to opposition members in comparison of treasury benches while the opposition members allowed speaking time of 48 hours and 21 minutes, on the other hand, the treasury benches were given 35 hours and 19 minutes.
During the nine months of the first parliamentary year as whole 70 bills were presented, of whom 23 bills from the government while 47 were private, of which, eight government and one private bill got approved.
Moreover, 22 resolutions were also presented in the NA which included paying homage to our beloved Prophet PHUH on his birth anniversary, human rights and world children day and resolutions against Indian aggression were also included.
As many as 1071 answers of questions were presented by the various ministries and the government departments while 85 calling attention notices were also included in the session’s proceedings.
