LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested former prime minister and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in LNG tenders case.
The arrest’s report was confirmed by Mr Khaqan’s fellow party mate Ahsan Iqbal who affirmed that officials of the graft-busting body had detained Abbasi.
On this occasion, PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the former prime minister was intercepted at Toll plaza Thoker Niaz Baig in Lahore.
The grafting-busting body had called Shahid Khaqan at its Rawalpindi office at 10 am today (Thursday). However, the politician excused from appearing.
The PML-N stalwart is accused of granting tenders of LNG-Terminal to his “blue-eyed individuals” and caused a loss of millions to the national exchequer.
