LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore on Saturday approved five-day transit remand of former federal minister Kamran Michael while he will be transferred to Karachi for further investigation.

The former federal minister for ports and shipping Kamran Michael was presented before the accountability court by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Michael was accused of illegally possessing three commercial plots in Karachi Port Trust (KPT) while he was also facing charges of misusage of authority during his services as federal minister.

After completion of arguments by both sides, the court approved transit remand and directed authorities to permit Kamran Michael to meet his family.

Tight security arrangements were made in all routes around the court.
