ISLAMABAD: The anti-graft buster body National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to initiate another probe against former premier Nawaz Sharif in a case of personal use of a set of bulletproof vehicles meant for SAARC conference.
The accountability court has allowed the anti-corruption body to interrogate Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat jail while according to the NAB, ex-premier Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz had used the bulletproof vehicles which were purchased from Germany in a total of 34 without paying duties.
The NAB said that the bulletproof vehicles were bought for the SAARC conference 2016 held in Islamabad while former premier included 20 vehicles out of 34 in for his convoy.
The anti-graft body has recorded the statement of another former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi while Fawad Hassan Fawad and former foreign secretary also have been interrogated in the case.
As per the NAB, foreign office officials used their powers beyond their limits in the bulletproof vehicles while Nawaz Sharif family also used the bulletproof vehicles.
