ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that corruption is the mother of all evils whose eradication is the voice of all the nation adding that the anti-graft body is committed eradicating corruption from its roots by following laws and merit with transparency.
Chairman of the anti-corruption watchdog Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has issued two pages press release regarding the success of accountability for all.
According to the press release, as per gallop and Gillani survey, 59 percent believed in the NAB and its existing leadership nabbed 600 accused and filed 590 references while it submitted 303 Rs Billion to national exchequer collected from corrupt elements.
As per the press release, neither the anti-graft body believed in political engineering nor its prisons tried to affects its credibility while the body has invited human rights to visit its headquarter.
The press release reads that the anti-corruption body’s 50 executive board meetings were held while it also arranged a seminar for South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries and now the NAB is the member of SAARC anti-corruption forum which is a milestone for the body.
The NAB formed a modern system of monitoring and evaluation and it also has signed MOU with China under bilateral cooperation.
The press release said that the body’s as many as 1210 references are in courts worth of Rs 900 billion while it also established a modern forensic laboratory in Rawalpindi.
It also stated that the NAB has allocated 10 months time for filling of a reference.
