NAB Objections Against LHC Bench On Shehbaz’s Bail Plea Rejected

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sardar Shamim Khan on Monday rejected objections of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against LHC bench formed to hear bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.

CJ LHC Justice Sardar Shamim Khan gave verdict of NAB plea against the bench to hear Shehbaz’s bail petition.

Justice Khan remarked that bail plea submitted by Shehbaz Sharif will be heard by the two-member bench led by Justice Malik Shehzad.

He said that NAB was already facing many allegations and now the anti-corruption watchdog seeking to form judicial benches on its own choices.

LHC CJ questioned the reason behind insisting to hear the [Shehbaz Sharif’s bail] petition by a specific bench.

Earlier, the anti-graft watchdog pleaded the LHC to forward Shahbaz’s bail plea to the bench led by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi.
