NAB Offices Prepare References Against Sharif Family,Dar

Islamabad (September 01, 2017): NAB Lahore and Rawalpindi offices have prepared four different references against Nawaz Sharif, his family and Ishaq Dar, which will be filed in NAB HQ soon after Eid.

According to the details, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regional offices in Rawalpindi and Lahore have prepared four different references against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar, in which it has been suggested to freeze all assets of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his children  and include Nawaz Sharif, Hassan, Hussain and Maryam Nawaz’s names in the Exit Control List (ECL).

All four references will be submitted to the main NAB office soon after Eid for final review and approval of the Executive Board for filing before the accountability courts.NAB Lahore has prepared one reference related to the ownership of Avenfield apartments recommending seizure of Sharif family properties and freezing of bank accounts, while the second reference is against Ishaq Dar for owning assets beyond his means.

Meanwhile, NAB Rawalpindi has also prepared two references; the first one against the purchase of the Azizia Steel Mills and a second one against the various industrial assets owned by the Sharif family including the Hill Metal Establishment.The matter will now lies before the NAB HQ, which will review and will file the references before the accountability court after approval of its executive board.

Supreme Court had directed NAB to prepare three references in which one was regarding Al-Azizia Steel Mill while the other two were about London flats and 16 offshore companies held by the Sharif family.SC had disqualified Nawaz Sharif in Panama case verdict on the basis of his non-withdrawn salary, considering it part of his assets on July 28.
