Islamabad (July 07, 2018): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday raided the residence of ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s principal secretary, Fawad Hassan Fawad and confiscated significant documents.
As per details, Fawad was also among the team during the raid.

Majority of the documents seized from the house were related to national security, which include meeting minutes, secret reports of meetings headed by Nawaz Sharif and many other significant record.
Besides this, two laptops, five mobile phones and more than 30 USBs have also been taken into possession.
The phones recovered from his car also include a Blackberry, whose password has been obtained from Fawad. NAB has begun the forensic audit of all the confiscated material following which important information will surface.
On Friday, accountability court handed Fawad to NAB on 14-day physical remand in Rs14 billion Ashiana Housing Scheme scam.He pressurized chief executive officer (CEO) Tahir Khursheed and Project Director Ali Moazzam of Punjab Land Development Company (PLDC) to cancel the contract with M/S Chaudhry Latif and sons and gave it to Casa Developers.
The government had to pay Rs5.9 million in damages due to alleged cancellation of the contract that further delayed the project.
He also constructed a plaza in Rawalpindi through illegal assets. Fawad neither presented any record before NAB nor was able to respond to their queries. Motorway Housing Scheme was illicitly approved at his behest.
He was also charged with relocation of Compressed Natural Gas stations and illegally serving in a bank.
According to NAB, Fawad was taken into custody on ample evidence gleaned from statements of co-accused testifying against him while he will be produced before accountability court on Friday.Fawad Hassan Fawad served as the principal secretary to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and is considered his close aide.
He was removed from the position on June 1, 2018 and appointed as director general of Civil Services Academy, Lahore.
According to NAB officials, Fawad wrongfully awarded the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme’scontract to ‘favourites’, illegally ordered the shifting of nine CNG stations and also worked in a private bank from 2005 to 2006 without official permission.
Moreover, while being the provincial health secretary, Fawad acquired six mobile health units which were purchased at a higher-than-market rate, a NAB spokesperson said.Fawad has served as former PM Nawaz Sharif’s principal secretary and is considered close to the former premier. He was removed from the post of principal secretary on June 1 this year and appointed director general of Civil Services Academy, Lahore.
The accused bureaucrat was also being probed by NAB for possession of assets beyond known sources of income.
According to NAB, the contract for the housing scheme was won by a construction company titled Chaudhry Latif and Sons.
However, NAB says then Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his aides awarded the Rs14 billion contract to Lahore Casa Developers — a proxy group of Paragon City (Pvt) Limited, which is said to be owned by Railways Minister Saad Rafique.Fawad, who was implementation secretary to the chief minister Punjab at the time, levelled charges of wrongdoings against Chaudhry Latif and Sons in order for the contract to be awarded to Casa Developers.
Shehbaz has already appeared before NAB in the case while former Lahore Development Authority chairman Ahad Cheema is on judicial remand after having been arrested over the case.
