NAB Raids NTS Offices, Suspects Arrested

Islamabad (October 30, 2017): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday raided two offices of the National Testing Service (NTS) and arrested several employees in connection with leaked test papers case.

As per details, NAB officials raided two offices of the NTS and nabbed several employees. NAB team also seized documents after examining records at the NTS offices.

On October 27, Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal ordered an inquiry against National Testing Service (NTS) for alleged embezzlement and leakage of question papers before test.

Chairman said NAB would not allow any institution to affect the future of students by violating merit and transparency. NAB has received a complaint against the National Testing Service (NTS).NAB Chief Orders Inquiry Against NTS ‘Paper Leak’The NTS, which has allegedly failed to protect rights of students would also be probed on this matter.

Last month, the Lahore High Court barred the NTS from taking test of students who wanted to take admission in various university programs.

More than 1,800 candidates appeared for entry test but after leaking of paper, many students were deprived from the chance of being selected.

In 2016, a similar incident happened but the Sindh government did not take any action against NTS authorities.

The students demanded NTS to be banned in Sindh citing the failure of NTS authorities to provide a system based on merit.
