NAB Team Visits Jati Umra, Hands Over Summon for Oct 2

Lahore (September 29, 2017): A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team accompanied with police personnel visited deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s residence in Jati Umra, Lahore and delivered accountability court’s summon for Nawaz Children and Son in Law to appear before the court on October 2.

Sources told Abbtakk News that the NAB team, headed by Deputy Director Mehboob Alam and comprising Deputy Director Mohammad Kamran and Investigating Officer Imran Dogar, was also met with resistance from the security staff present at the residence, sources in NAB said.

Earlier in the day, the Pakistan High Commission in London officials visited former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s children- Hassan, Hussain and Maryam including Capt Retd Safdar- residence in Mayfair flats in London to make sure their appearance before accountability court on October 2 in corruption reference, however they returned empty handed.

According to sources, the officials of Pakistan High commission visited the Mayfair flats – 17/17 and 16/16- to meet Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Maryam Safdar and Capetian Retd Safdar to make sure their appearance before the court on October 2.Sources told that all the accused were not present at their residences and the officials returned empty handed, however they will visit again soon.

On September 26, An accountability court issued bailable arrest warrants for ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s three children and Captain (retd) Safdar.

Maryam, Hassan, Hussain and Capt Safdar have been asked to appear before the court on October 2. Judge Muhammad Bashir issued the warrants against a surety of Rs1 million each.

The former premier’s two sons were summoned before the court for hearing of references filed by the National Accountability Bureau. However, they were unable to appear today as they are still in London tending to their mother, who is undergoing cancer treatment.Earlier, The Islamabad’s accountability court has set October 2 as date to indict former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in three corruption references filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Supreme Court’s directions.

Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard the corruption references filed against Nawaz Sharif and his children Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Muhammad Safder.

Nawaz made a brief appearance before the accountability court early this week.
