Islamabad (September 20, 2017): Defense Ministry has moved a summary containing names of senior officers of Pakistan Navy for appointment of new Nava Chief.
The incumbent Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah is going to retire on October 8, 2017.
Sources said that the names of Vice Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Vice Admiral Syed Arifullah Hussaini, Vice Admiral Shah Sohail Masood and Vice Admiral Waseem Karam names were under consideration for the new Naval chief.
Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir confirmed sending a summary to Prime Minister for appointment of new Naval Chief.
“I can only tell that a summary containing names of senior most officers of Navy has been sent to the Prime Minister.”
The President on recommendation of Prime Minister will appoint Naval Chief.
