ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday said that Pakistan fought brilliantly well to curb the menace of extremism and terrorism.
As per details, addressing to forth ‘Pegham-e-Islam’ conference he said that the life of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is flame of light for his followers. Islam gives the message of equality and Pakistan proved it practically.
Dr Arif Alvi said, “Armed forces fought successfully to curb extremism from the country, even the world has applauded our forces.”
“Some of the governments are constructing walls around their country’s borders to restrict the immigrants of war-torn countries,” said Arif Alvi.
“We, on the other hand, welcomed our Afghan brothers with open hearts,” he added.
He said, “Pakistan accommodated a large number of Afghan refugees and some families are living here since past three or four generations.”
“Pakistan is not among those countries who construct walls on their borders to restrict refugees from war-torn countries,” he concluded.
The ceremony was started with the recitation of Quranic verses from visiting Imam-e-Kaaba. The ceremony was attended by federal minister of religious affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and a large number of religious scholars from every section of the society.
Noor-ul-Haq also addressed the ceremony and thanked Imam-e-Kaaba for his kind visit to Pakistan and said that it is because of him that religious clerics from every section of the society are gathered under one roof.
