National Coordination Board Formed to Promote Tourism

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday has formed the National Tourism Coordination Board (NTCB) aimed to highlight and promote tourism opportunities available in the country.

The decision was made during a meeting of tourism task forces presided over by the Prime Minister Imran Khan/

The meeting has approved the formation of regularity framework and national coordination board for the promotion of tourism, coordination among the centre and provinces and cooperation with provincial governments.

The 25-member board will be comprised of members from ministries, departments and private fields.

Meeting has also decided to re-construction of Pakistan Tourism Development Company (PTDC) in which the heirs of worth Rs 200 billion will be transferred to provinces as PTDC will perform duty as a secretariat for NTCB.

Talking on the occasion, PM said that the Balahasar Castle should be made as the epicentre of the tourism activities while the rest houses of the Punjab and KP should also be made commercial.
