Islamabad (August 9, 2017): Former Prime Minister Nawaz is all set to leave for Lahore via the historic Grand Trunk (GT) Road in what analysts say in an attempt to demonstrate his party street-power and his popularity among masses despite being disqualified by the apex court.
As per the schedule, Nawaz Sharif will leave Punjab House for D-Chow in Islamabad from where his cavalcade will start toward his power base and hometown, Lahore.

Elaborate and stringent security arrangements have been made. Nawaz will stay in a specially-designed bomb-proof and air-conditioned container.
Federal minister and senior party leaders will also join him in the container. Former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will drive Nawaz Sharif car from Punjab house to the D-Chowk.
Camps have been set up all along the GT Road in different cities by local chapters of PML-N to receive the former Prime Minister. Posters and banners welcoming the former PM have sprung up in different areas along the GT Road.
Heavy contingent of police and elite force commando have been deployed on the route of the rally. In the federal capital the route of the rally has been closed and police have been deployed from Punjab House to Faizabad.
