Nawaz Meets Shehbaz in NAB Sub-jail, Inquires About Health

Islamabad (November 05, 2018): Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif met his younger brother and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sub-jail on Monday.

He also inquired about the health of former Chief Minister of Punjab (CM).

“Nawaz inquired about Shehbaz’s health and the two discussed the current political situation of the country during the meeting,” sources said.

On October 30, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif met Shehbaz Sharif at the Parliament House, when Shehbaz was produced for NA Session.During the meeting which was held in Shehbaz’s chambers, the country’s current political situation and the ongoing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases against them were discussed.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif was declared medically fit after a three-member board conducted his proper checkup.

The board submitted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president’s medical certificate in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), stating that all his tests are normal.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif, who was arrested by NAB on October 5, informed the accountability that issues related to his health were being neglected in NAB custody and that he had asked for few necessary medical tests but the bureau officials told they had not received any order in this regard from the ‘higher authority’.

Following court’s order, NAB constituted medical board and wrote a letter to executive director of polyclinic in this regard.PML-N president was arrested on October 5 after appearing before the NAB team in Saaf Paani Company scheme. NAB said Shehbaz failed to satisfy the investigation team regarding a tender awarded to a private consultancy firm and was therefore arrested.

The Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly is currently incarcerated in NAB’s sub-jail in the federal capital as he is on a transitory remand till November 6.

The anti-graft watchdog said the firm did not conduct any kind of survey but nevertheless was provided a lucrative sum of 1.5 billion rupees. It added that Fawad Hassan Fawad, the principal secretary of former premier Nawaz Sharif, had become an approver in the case.NAB said that the contract for the housing scheme was won by a construction company titled Chaudhry Latif and Sons but Sharif cancelled it and later on awarded the contract to Lahore Casa Developers – a proxy group of Paragon City (Pvt) Limited, which is said to be owned by former Railways minister Saad Rafique.
