Islamabad (February 22, 2018): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for Islamabad from his Jati Umra residence to appear before an accountability court in references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The Accountability Court will resume hearing of National Accountability Bureau references against Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (r) Safdar today.The accountability court headed by judge Muhammad Bashir will hear the NAB references against Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Sources said that the former Prime Minister will arrive at Punjab House after appearing before the AC and will hold important meetings to name the next party head.
On February 21, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had disqualified former Prime Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League N, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif for Party President-ship.
According to the details, the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan disqualified Nawaz Sharif as president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the verdict regarding petitions against Election Act of 2017.

The apex court elaborated that a person disqualified under Article 62, 63 of the Constitution can not head the party. Furthermore, as a result of the verdict, all decisions taken by Nawaz as PML-N’s president stand null and void.
While announcing the verdict, the apex court said that a person who doesn’t qualify on Article 62 and 63 of the constitution can also not hold the office of presidency of any political party.
“Ineligible person cannot hold the office of party presidency,” the court said. SC has also annulled all decisions made by Nawaz Sharif as the party head.It added that the tickets for Senate elections issued by him will now be cancelled. The ruling party will now have to re-announce its candidates for the Senate polls that were scheduled for next month.
After hearing the petitions against Election Act of 2017, Supreme Court had reserved its verdict to decide the political fate of Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier on February 15, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar had appeared before the accountability court in Islamabad.
The former premier is accompanied by Maryam Nawaz, her husband Capt retd Safdar and other party leaders.
He left from Punjab House after consultations with the party leadership and was welcomed by a large number of party supporters at judicial complex chanting slogans in his favour. The NAB had filed a plea to place the names of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar on ECL while the Sharif family had also filed a plea seeking exemption of two weeks from the proceedings due to their visit to London to inquire health of ailing Kulsoom Nawaz.
Earlier, on Thursday morning former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz reached Islamabad from Lahore to appear before the accountability court. They arrived the capital city via a special plane from Lahore to Islamabad.
On Wednesday, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) approved supplementary references to be filed in accountability court against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Al Azizia and Flagship references.
According to sources, new evidences against Nawaz Sharif, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz are part of interim references and details of new off shore companies of Hassan and Hussain are also part of it.The new evidences are made part of interim reference in Al Azizia case.
The sources further said that NAB would file both the interim references in accountability court today.
