Nawaz Suggests Constitutional Amendment On Interim Setup      

Islamabad (March 22, 2018): Former Prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday suggested for a constitutional amendment for the formation of the interim government and said that all parties should sit together for it.

As per details, the former prime minister while talking to media after the accountability court proceedings said that the law is ambiguous on the interim government and therefore amendments could be made to make it clearer.

He said that the government and opposition should jointly elect the interim government and its powers should be clearly defined and should not be allowed to exceed from its limitation and defined powers.

Talking to media after the hearing, Maryam Nawaz said that they had appealed the accountability court to allow them to visit ailing Kulsoom Nawaz but the NAB prosecutor once again opposed our plea. “Now let’s see what court decides on the issue,” she said.

Earlier after reaching the court, Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he was disappointed on the recent role played by the PPP and in such circumstances it would be difficult to hold consultations with PPP on interim government setup.Talking to media while appearing before the accountability court, Sharif said that it was not him but PPP that broke the charter of democracy by doing a NRO.

“Bilawal is wrong that PML-N stepped back from the charter of democracy instead it is PPP that took two steps back from its implementation,” he said.

Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif assured to sit with everyone for the supremacy of the Constitution.

Nawaz Sharif said that suggestions to put names on Exit Control List (ECL) are being given despite serving the country. I don’t have any concern with any state institution, he added.

He said that the purpose of filing supplementary reference against him is still unrevealed.The former PM further asked why there was a need to change Balochistan assembly, adding that the nation has not accepted the verdict of his disqualification.

Talking on the current situation of the country, Sharif said there is a huge difference in 2013 and today’s economy.

He also lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and said that previously, he used to hold rallies at Minar-e-Pakistan but now he is gathering the people in small streets.
