KARACHI: A fire broke out in the basement of a residential building in Nazimabad No 4 area of Karachi was extinguished after 20 hours long efforts.
As per details, yesterday fire broke out in the basement of Tariq Plaza in Nazimabad at 7:00 am after which fire brigade vehicles were called in. The fire was doused by the fire tenders.
But later on again fire broke out in the building which was extinguished after 20 hours long efforts by the fire brigade department.
Chief Fire Officer Tahseen Ahmed said that fire was extinguished after 20 hours long efforts. He added that due to intense smoke fire fighters faced problems in dousing the fire.
Assistant Commissioner Imtiaz Abro, who also visited the building, said that the basement of the residential building was being used fro commercial purposes. He added that in the original map, the basement was reserved for parking.
No loss of life was reported, as the residents were rescued in a timely manner. The process of cooling is underway in the basement.
