NBP Seeks Permission for Crushing to Omni Group Mills

Islamabad (October 20, 2018): The National Bank of Pakistan has filed a petition to Supreme Court on Saturday seeking permission of crushing to the sugar mills related to Omni group account holders.

The petition stated that halting of crushing to sugar mills of Omni group might cause huge loss to country’s economy therefore, SC should allow the cursing to sugar mills and a committee should be formed to redress the issue.

“National Bank and other banks could not recover the money after failing in crushing,” petition told the court adding that the economy of the country was already in a dire situation and the bank can’t recover the amounts by selling the machinery, plants and lands.
