Islamabad (October 29, 2017): Federal government has allocated over 19 billion rupees in the current Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project (NJHP).
According to media reports, 95 percent work on the project with a capacity of 969MW electricity has been completed.
Out of four one unit of the project will start functioning by Feb next year followed by other units in April and May.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan at a meeting with Chairman WAPDA in Islamabad has asked him to resolve all issues of Neelum Jhelum Hydro Power Project on priority basis.
The Chairman WAPDA assured to resolve environmental and water issues including local recruitment for the project.
