NEPRA Decreases Electricity Tariffs

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Wednesday approved to decrease the prices of electricity by Rs0.040 per unit in the tariff for all of its consumers.

A notification has been issued in this regard.

The prices are decreased under the fuel adjustment for the month of March, the notification reads.

The decreases in electricity tariffs will give a relief of Rs 280 million to the users.

It is pertinent to mention here that the NEPRA proposed Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) to increase the electricity tariffs under the monthly fuel adjustment. The NEPRA however, rejected the request and reduced the process by Rs0.040 per unit.

This change, however, will not affect the K-Electric users.
