RAWALPINDI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Akram Durrani on Tuesday said that a new announcement about Azadi March sit-in will be made today.
After appearing before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi to reply on inquiries against him, Durrani said there is no possibility of any backdoor negotiations with the government.
“Maryam Nawaz’s father [Nawaz Sharif] is sick because of which he wasn’t able to join dharna,” he said, adding: “We have been praying for the health of both Maryam and Nawaz.”
Durrani, the opposition’s Rehbar Committee convener, appeared before the NAB investigation team to answer questions in three accountability inquiries against him including assets beyond means, fake recruitment and illegal land allotment.
Akram Durrani has interim bail till November 21 in the three cases.
