Power Plants will Bring Development in All Sectors: Shahbaz

Jhang (July 07, 2017): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif addressing on the occasion said that 168 billion rupees have been saved in these three power projects through transparency.

He said decision to initiate these power plants was a difficult decision two years back, however, Prime Minister took this decision for the progress of the country.

Chief Minister said new power plants will bring development in all sectors including agriculture and industry besides creating job opportunities.

He said that all power plants are being completed with complete transparency.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that Haveli Bahadur Shah, Bhikki and Balloki power plants will add 3600 MW power to national grid.

He said power supply and demand gap which was 67 percent in June 2013 has now been reduced to 19 percent while the country is poised to cross 20000 megawatt electricity generation.

The Minister said that PML-N will go in election 2018 after fulfilling its promise of elimination of load shedding.

He said power transmission and distribution system is also being improved simultaneously in the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated 760 megawatt first unit of Haveli Bahadur Shah power plant near Jhang on Friday.

The project is a Combined Cycle Power Plant with a total production capacity of 1230 MW, fueled by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

The first unit has been completed in a record period of twenty-one months, saving fifty seven billion rupees by the joint efforts of China power construction company and Pakistan National Engineering.

It is pertinent to mention that the power plant will generate 1230 megawatt electricity.

The first unit of the power plant, fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), will produce 760 megawatts.

The project is expected to be environment friendly with a minimum impact on climate change as efficient technology has been used which guarantees the productivity and regulation of the plant at 62.44 per cent on LNG, said government officials.
