Lahore (August 27, 2018): New Punjab cabinet will be sworn in at Governor House in Lahore today evening.
A spokesman of Punjab Chief Minister Office said that the acting Punjab Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi will administer oath to the new Cabinet members.

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and prominent personalities belonging to various segments of society will attend the ceremony.
Earlier on August 26, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government announced a 23-member Punjab cabinet.
According to a press release issued by the PTI on Sunday, the provincial cabinet includes Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed (Housing and Urban Development), Aleem Khan (Local Government and Community Minister), Yasmeen Rashid (Health), Samiullah Chaudhry (Food) and Fayyaz ul Hasan Chohan (Minister for Information and Culture).

Muhammad Sabtain, Sardar Asif Nigai, Hafiz Mumtaz, Hafiz Amar Yasir, Yasir Humayun Sarfraz (Higher Education) and Mian Aslam (Punjab Industries, Commerce and Investment) and Murad Raas (School Education) have been named in the cabinet.Others who got the portfolios are Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, Taimoor Khan (Youth and Sports) and Raja Basharat (Law and Parliamentary Affairs).
The announcement was made hours after Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar interviewed 30 lawmakers before picking the cabinet’s members.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan interviewed at least 30 shortlisted lawmakers to form the Punjab cabinet.
According to the details, an important session was held at Bani Gala under PM Imran Khan, where Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar and others recommended for the cabinet were also present.Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had summoned Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to discuss the formation of the provincial cabinet.
According to sources, the prime minister met with Buzdar at the prime minister house where the two discussed and approve the names of the ministers who will be a part of Buzdar’s cabinet.

In a meeting held on Friday between Imran and Buzdar, it was agreed upon to form a small provincial cabinet, said sources
“During the meeting, it was decided that in the first phase, 15 members will be assigned portfolios,” sources said and added that senior members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be appointed to key ministries.
Earlier on August 20, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and newly elected chief minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar took oath at governor house in a simple ceremony.
The acting governor Punjab Pervez Elahi administered the oath.

A large number of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders attended the oath-taking ceremony.
Newly elected Punjab Chief Minister, Usman Ahmad Buzdaar thanked PM Imran Khan for reposing confidence in him for the Chief Minister’s responsibility.
He said his government will implement Imran Khan’s vision for the progress of the country.
The CM said that he belongs to a backward area of the province and his government will work for the progress of backward areas.
Earlier August 19, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Usman Buzdar elected him as CM Punjab. He secured 186 votes, while his opponent PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz 159 votes.
Usman Buzdar garnered 26,897 votes from PP-286 Taunsa Sharif and defeated independent candidate Khawaja Muhammad Nizamul Mehmood.On last Friday, prime minister Imran Khan had announced Buzdar s name as a candidate for the post of CM Punjab via a video message.
Explaining his decision, the PTI chief had said: “Sardar Usman hails from the most impoverished area of Punjab. These people have no water, no electricity, no hospitals.
“Sardar Usman knows the struggle of a poor man. He is the only MPA who doesn’t t have electricity in his house. I have faith in him and God willing he ‘ll deliver.”
Buzdar is an advocate and a landlord by profession. Born in May 1969, in the tribal stretch of Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab, Buzdar is the eldest of five brothers and sisters. While he received his early education from his family village, Barthi, he later enrolled at Multan’s Bahauddin Zakariya University for a masters in political science and then completed an LLB.
