New Year Festivities Begin in Hong Kong, South Korea

Seoul (January 01, 2018): New Year Celebrations begin in Hong Kong and South Korea with Spectacular Fireworks.

Hong Kong celebrates start of 2018 with spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display above iconic Victoria Harbour.

Beacons of colour erupted over the bay to the sound of Auld Lang Syne as locals and visitors alike said goodbye to 2017. Taiwan celebrated the start of 2018 with a display at the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper.

Approximately 16,000 pyrotechnics launched into the sky above the capital city.

Many other cities and counties in Taiwan, including Taichung, Taoyuan and Changhua, have decided to cancel the firework displays to reduce air pollution.

But at Taipei 101, the show will last six minutes at a total cost of about £60million new Taiwan dollars (£2million US dollars).

South Korea is celebrating the start of 2018 with a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display in Seoul.
