New Zealand Register Six-wicket Win Against Sri Lanka

Birmingham (May 30, 2017):  New Zealand on Tuesday bounced back and registered a six-wicket win against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston.

According to the details, New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first. Sri Lanka set New Zealand 357 runs target on 8 wickets in the warm-up math. Whereas New Zealand chased the target on four wickets with 23 balls remaining.

Sri Lankan skipper Upul Tharanga scored 110 runs on 104 balls with three 6s and thirteen 4s. Whereas Kusal Mendis went to pavilion on 57 and Chandimal on 55.

New Zealand’s bowlers Boult and Southee clinched two wickets each in the match. New Zealand’s opener Martin Guptill made unbeaten 116 runs in the match. While captain Kane Williamson scored 88 runs. It is pertinent to mention here that Guptill and Williamson retired out in the match. New Zealand chased the target in 46.1 overs.
