New Zealand Thrash Pakistan in First ODI

Abu Dhabi (November 08, 2018): The Trend Boult hat-trick helped Kiwis to get victory over Pakistan by 47 runs in the first ODI at Sheikh Zaid Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. 

Chasing 267 runs target, Pakistan lost three wickets only eight runs were on the board and later six down at 85.

However, at this crucial stage captain, Sarfraz Ahmed and Imad Waseem put Pakistan on driving seat with 103 runs partnership.

Sarfraz made 64 and Imad 50 but both failed to push Pakistan to triumph.

Boult and Furguson each got three wickets to play the crucial role in the team victory.  Earlier, New Zealand fought back after losing four wickets in just eight balls and set the moderate target of 267 runs for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s leg-spinner Shadab Khan took three wickets in an over.Shadab finished with 4-38 — his third four-wicket haul — after Ross Taylor (80) and Tom Latham (68) had stitched together a 130-run partnership for the fourth wicket after New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat.

Paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi finished with 4-46.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan.
