Nine years pass to May 12 tragedy, lawyers boycott court proceedings

Today, nine years have been passed to May 12  tragedy, thus victims are still waiting for justice, lawyers have boycotted the court proceedings in several cities on Black Day which is being observed.

On May 12, 2007, Karachi was hostaged on arrival of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftekhar Muhammad Chaudhry, bloodbath was publically observed in the city of lights where more than 50 citizens among lawyers were brutally killed.

Important highways were closed by containers, due to which lawyers, court judges and deposed chief justice were stranded at the airport.

The Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Sabihuddin formed larger bench for investigation, thus neither any murderer has been disclosed nor any one was punished so far.

Lawyers have boycotted the proceedings across the country today, Chairman of Karachi Bar Association Mehmood-ul Hassan said that boycott is underway on appeal of Sindh and Karachi Bar Association while no lawyer would present in the court.

However, political parties and lawyers would hold protest rallies against May 12 tragedy today.
